Please note that it is not possible to completely remove the vocals from an audio track. To be able to do it completely, you would need the original mix where the voice and audio are two separate tracks. We recommend checking the section “Reduce Vocals” under “Effects” from the WavePad user’s manual, which you can access by pressing F1 or by going to Help > Help Contents.
- Load the audio file to WavePad by drag and dropping it from its location into WavePad or by going to File > Open File…
- Go to Effects > Voice > Reduce Vocals, then set the parameters of the vocals reduction. You can use the Bypass Effect button while listening to the audio preview to compare with and without vocals reduction.
- When satisfied with the result, click “Apply”.

Previously, WavePad and other NCH products came bundled with optional browser plugins like the Ask and Chrometoolbars, which sparked complaints from users and triggered malware warnings from antivirus software companies like Norton and McAfee. NCH has since unbundled all toolbars in all program versions released after July 2015.[8]
